Trying to save up enough money to buy her own computer, 12-year-old Anne makes watercolor paintings to sell to her family. Her grandfather, impressed by her initiative, gives her a series of motivational cd's that helped him start his own business.

 

Inspired by the resonant voice of the success guru, Anne sets herself a goal – she must make $900 before August 1, so she can bring her new laptop on their summer trip. She immediately gets to work, doing chores for her mom, cleaning her grandpa's office, mowing his lawn, even working the drill press at Grandpa's machine shop.

 

But when she burns through all this work and still hasn't reached her goal, she has to resort to the tickling business, a boring and torturous way for a kid to make money.
